Our Facilities
A sanctuary of safety, serenity, and connection — where recovery begins.
At Ark House Rehab, we’ve created more than just a treatment centre — we’ve built a home for recovery.
Nestled on the stunning North Yorkshire coastline, just a short walk from Scarborough’s peaceful beaches, Ark House combines professional excellence with a warm, human touch. Every space is designed to promote calm, dignity, and restoration — supporting clients to heal in body, mind, and spirit.
For over 30 years, our facility has welcomed thousands of individuals and families seeking freedom from addiction. Our environment reflects that legacy — clean, clinical, and professional, yet inviting and personal, providing the ideal foundation for a transformative journey through recovery.
Our Spaces
The Lounge — Connection and Comfort
Our central lounge is the heart of Ark House. Designed for both relaxation and community, it offers a warm, tranquil space for reflection, social interaction, and group activities. Residents come together here to share experiences, find encouragement, and rediscover a sense of belonging.
Our Women’s Lounge and dedicated facilities ensure privacy, dignity, and safety, creating a space of belonging and empowerment for female residents.
The Kitchen — Nourishment and Care
Food plays a vital role in healing. Our two in-house professional chefs prepare nutritious, balanced meals daily, catering to all dietary, allergy, and religious requirements.
We promote holistic wellbeing through mindful nutrition, ensuring that every resident feels cared for, both physically and emotionally.
Dining Area — Connection Over Every Meal
Our light-filled dining space encourages shared connection and conversation. Adjacent to the dining area is a recreation zone, featuring a pool table, board games, and books — creating a perfect balance of structure, leisure, and relaxation.
Private Counselling & Therapy Rooms — Safe, Confidential Healing
We provide dedicated therapy rooms for one-to-one sessions with our qualified counsellors and psychotherapists.
Each space offers a private, calm, and therapeutic setting where residents can explore the underlying issues of addiction in safety and confidence.
Group Rooms & Lecture Spaces — Learning and Growth
The addict can continue with the addiction without really serious consequences, because their partner “takes care of cleaning the dishes” and providing the family with what they need. Thus, the addict’s family falls into a trap that perpetuates the addiction.
Bedrooms — Peaceful, Private, and Restorative
Ark House offers comfortable, homely accommodation across three floors, including separate male and female areas.
Each bedroom is designed to feel calm, secure, and restorative.
